Smoothy de Roboter came through the world-renowned Treehouse last night. He came bearing Torq. Accordingly, I held the first Dvizzle/School of Communications live shoutcast.
Back in the day (all the way back to 2003), we would have random shoutcast sessions. These were dope because we were just doing what we loved, Djing, messing with beats, an overall modern musical lifestyle.
These sporadic shout casts were also the informal version of my five-year long, award winning college radio show: Preshapoints. One of these days I'll do a throwback Preshapoints post, I've got tons of mixes from 2000-2005 of Miami's drum 'n bass DJs.
Though I love vinyl and will always continue collecting dope records wherever I travel, this new-fangled technology is killer. I've carried crates since 1999, fam. Now I just carry a laptop and I'm good? And I've got digital-crates for
daze?
I'll probably abandon Torq and run with Serato, since Smoothy already pwns the Torq mixes.
Whenever we (smoothizzle/dvizzle) get the sporadic shout casts and podcasts on a regular schedule, we'll let you know.
